Announcement: Fizz Marketing officially a B-BBEE Level 2 company

Fizz Marketing empowers long standing staff and transforms to majority black shareholding

Fizz Marketing, specialists in tailored event management services, has signed an empowerment deal that sees its black shareholding increase to 50.2%, and is officially a B-BBEE Level 2 company.
Fizz Marketing, a wholly female-owned entity, has cemented its ongoing empowerment efforts with a deal making long-standing employee Thabile Mdletshe a 25.1% shareholder in the company, and further established a broad-based black trust (Fizz Imbizo Trust) an employment equity scheme established to allocate a further 25.1% of shares to staff.

“Empowerment is at the heart of the Fizz Marketing company culture,” says founder and Director Celeste Whitaker. “Thabile Mdletshe, who has been within the company for over ten years, has established her value as a true partner in the business, and we agreed that the time had come to formalise our long-standing partnership.”

“Through the skills transfer and experience I have gained in my journey with Fizz Marketing to date, I am now well positioned to help lead the company into the next decade of growth,” says Mdletshe.
Fizz Marketing’s empowerment programme has long ensured mentorship and training for the women within the business. Regular accredited business and leadership courses are provided for all staff, with a bursary awarded for a key staff member’s BCom studies and a new internship programme launched for young graduates.

“Fizz Marketing is also a member of the WEConnect global organisation of women-owned businesses and is part of the Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions (MICE) Academy, through which our entire team participates in regular online courses to gain CPD points and ensure that we are up to date on latest industry trends and developments,” says Whitaker.
Fizz Marketing’s focus on empowerment extends to enterprise development with a focus on women’s empowerment and its ongoing CSI programme supporting the Mother Touch Academy educational play centre in Diepsloot.
