Upcoming events in 2018: Asterisk Community Conference and DevConf

Asterisk Community Conference Africa 2018
Planning is underway for the Asterisk Community Conference Africa, happening in March 2018. This will be a collaborative and interactive two-day event. The event is all about software development, voice over IP, and unified communications, bringing together the top experts and presenting cutting edge developments in the industry.

DevConf 2018

After the outstanding success of the 2017 event (which was managed by Fizz Marketing), we are proud to be organizing the 2018 edition of DevConf. There will be two events in South Africa in March 2018: Johannesburg on the 27th and Cape Town on the 29th. The day-long events will be bringing together expert speakers in the software development industry. Attendees will enjoy some incredible talks and a chance to mingle with the development community. The events will be inspiring and entertaining and we are proud to be the organizers behind them.

Fizz Marketing donates Santa Shoeboxes to Mother Touch Academy

Fizz Marketing donated Santa Shoeboxes to Mother Touch Academy, a non-profit preschool for the community of Diepsloot.

We received a letter of thanks from the academy: "The children all loved the boxes and were very excited yesterday when we handed them out.
Please pass on our thanks to all at Fizz Marketing and thank you for your support of our school during 2017."


We are so proud to support this amazing school and are amazed by the incredible work they are doing there.

He is a fascinating person with years of success in journalism and political commentary. He hosts a weekly show called The Justice Factor on eNCA.

Featured venue: The Kramerville Bakery

This charming venue is in an unexpected space - above a plumbing yard. It's a restaurant, a bakery, a supper club and a private venue for hire. They even host bake sales. A truly unique space in Sandton, Johannesburg!



The restaurant is owned by a husband and wife team, Eloise and Alex Windebank. Alex is a chef (from the Michelin-starred The Sportsman in the UK). Eloise runs the front of house and her knowledge of cocktails is so extensive that her recipes have been published.

Announcement: Fizz Marketing officially a B-BBEE Level 2 company



Fizz Marketing empowers long standing staff and transforms to majority black shareholding

Fizz Marketing, specialists in tailored event management services, has signed an empowerment deal that sees its black shareholding increase to 50.2%, and is officially a B-BBEE Level 2 company.
Fizz Marketing, a wholly female-owned entity, has cemented its ongoing empowerment efforts with a deal making long-standing employee Thabile Mdletshe a 25.1% shareholder in the company, and further established a broad-based black trust (Fizz Imbizo Trust) an employment equity scheme established to allocate a further 25.1% of shares to staff.

“Empowerment is at the heart of the Fizz Marketing company culture,” says founder and Director Celeste Whitaker. “Thabile Mdletshe, who has been within the company for over ten years, has established her value as a true partner in the business, and we agreed that the time had come to formalise our long-standing partnership.”  

“Through the skills transfer and experience I have gained in my journey with Fizz Marketing to date, I am now well positioned to help lead the company into the next decade of growth,” says Mdletshe.
Fizz Marketing’s empowerment programme has long ensured mentorship and training for the women within the business. Regular accredited business and leadership courses are provided for all staff, with a bursary awarded for a key staff member’s BCom studies and a new internship programme launched for young graduates. 

“Fizz Marketing is also a member of the WEConnect global organisation of women-owned businesses and is part of the Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions (MICE) Academy, through which our entire team participates in regular online courses to gain CPD points and ensure that we are up to date on latest industry trends and developments,” says Whitaker.

Empire venue launch - 21 September 2017

The Fizz ladies attended the launch of the new Empire venue in Parktown. This venue is a multi-purpose space, and is super versatile.

The venue is open plan with three unique spaces, affording the user the freedom to create custom events, exactly to their specifications. It is fully equipped and serviced and is located right at the foot of the city. It's the best of both worlds: noiseless, away from the hustle and bustle, but conveniently located right near the heart of Johannesburg.
