Us Fizzers have once again had the opportunity to do what we
love best by organizing DevConf 2017 for
the 2nd year running! In just 2 years the event has become a “must
attend” event in the local developer world. The event was held at VodaWorld in
Midrand and was sold out - attracting over 700 software developers from some of
the top companies in the country. This annual, one-day event is
community-driven and vendor-neutral. The line-up of speakers was huge with over
40 speakers including some international speakers, speaking about a range of
topics relevant to the world of developers. Some topics included software
product design, Android development, and even flying a drone with VR.

The event also attracted 20 sponsors who realised the value in talking to so many developers under one roof.
With 16 sponsors stands, the networking area was pumping during the breaks.
The event was a massive success with awesome feedback from
attendees on Twitter, using the hashtag #devconf. Looking forward to seeing
this event continue to grow!
We also managed a special
dinner for the event’s speakers, which was held the night before the big
day. We were on-site for the dinner and it was great to see how excited the
speakers were for the conference.

Also managed this month was the Microsoft Server Competency Club breakfast event. The event was
held at Langham’s Lifestyle Estate and had a fantastic turn-out. Click here for photos.
