Five cocktails to try at your end of year event

Cocktails are still the ultimate way to enjoy a drink. It’s not just about mixing ingredients together – making an excellent cocktail is an artform. Just watch a mixologist at work and you will see what we mean. Here are five cocktails to try at your end of year event (or to ring in the new year).

1. A good old fashioned Old-Fashioned
This drink is making a huge come back. A combination of whiskey, bitters and sugar, this is a sophisticated drink that dates back to 1881. Check out the video on House and Leisure’s website here. The drink is quite hard to pull off at home, so try it out at the bar.

Trust Lauren Conrad to deliver on the cocktail front. This is a glamorous, girly drink that has a bit of showmanship thrown in as well. Get the recipe here.

Tequila, lime juice, agave syrup – what’s not to love. Watch a video from House and Leisure on how to make this classic drink.
